Why am I starting this blog?
I've resisted the idea of a blog for a long time. Mostly because I didn't think I was going to have enough to say to keep it going.
*Those that know me and have suffered through listening to me ramble on may be rolling their eyes right about now*
However, one of the things I wanted to put out there but just didn't know where on the website to put it are my self portraits. I've dabbled in self portrait on and off. Sometimes it makes me feel a little self involved to want to do them in the first place despite all the things I'm perfectly comfortable saying to clients and prospective clients about the value of feeling good about yourself and accepting the part of that that is superficial.
A few weeks ago I joined a group of photographers doing weekly self portrait challenges. Challenge is definitely the operative word here. They push me to think about myself from angles I may be inclined to shy away from or hide from public consumption. Some are more lighthearted as well.

They definitely started us out with a fun, lighthearted one and I am grateful for it!
In this image, which was taken about 30 minutes before my kiddos were due home from school, I wanted to portray a moment of peace and the luxury of self indulgence. This image headed a conversation in my women only, private facebook group on self care.
Ladies, if you would like to join my private group where we can openly and safely talk about just about anything, please request to join. We talk about the things we hope to achieve, are happy with, are self-conscious about and whatever else seems right at the time.
Thank you for joining me in my bath today ;)
